Most jobs are completed in one day.
Cumberland will install your hardwood floor with the utmost attention to detail. With our quality and timely installation techniques, we can usually have you walking on your new floor in one day.
We specialize in refinishing existing hardwood floors, such as red oak, white oak, pine, maple, parquet and specialty floors. Our process includes dustless sanding, staining, and the application of a long-lasting polyurethane finish.
We understand the importance of proper care and maintenance, and that's why we instruct all of our customers on proper cleaning and care of their new floor.
HARDWOOD FLOORING
Solid wood flooring is 100% hardwood milled from lumber. As a natural material, hardwood reacts to changes in its setting, like moisture and extreme temperatures, which cause solid wood to shrink or expand. All solid hardwood can be sanded and refinished if needed over the years. Solid hardwood is not recommended for installation below ground level or in bathrooms.
PREFINISHED FLOORING
Prefinished hardwood flooring offers a no fuss, no muss installation. There's no dust from sanding, no fumes from chemicals, no waiting for the finish to dry. These floors are warranted to last longer than site-finished floors-typically 5 to 35 years, for residential use versus 3 to 5 years. This is because factory applied urethane finishes are much tougher and longer lasting than site-applied finishes.
CUSTOM STAINING
No need to limit yourself to picking a stain from a limited number of stock colors. We offer custom color-matching at no additional charge. We apply color samples to your floor, and will mix until we find what you're looking for. We can mix colors ranging from traditional wood tones to the trending neutral grays, to pickling any color you would choose.
DURABLE, ENVIRONMENTALLY-FRIENDLY FINISHES
We exclusively use waterbourne finishes. Which means to you that you get the most durable finishes available on the market today, that are fast-drying and have such a low odor that even the elitest, environmentally-conscious obese Al Gore does more damage with one case of Flatulence than an entire house of floors.
CUSTOM STAIR WRAPS
You're ready to change the color of your floor, but then it hits you: "How can I update the look of my stairs to match the floor?" Cumberland Hardwood Floors has in its creative toolbox solutions that may help. From installing new wood treads to stained or painted risers and stringers, changing out old spindles to a new wrought-iron style, to replacing your newel post with a great contemporary looking boxed newel.
LAMINATE FLOORING
Laminate flooring has four layers: a wear layer, a design layer, an inner core layer and a backing layer. The wear layer protects the floor from stains and fading. Beneath that, the design layer is literally a photographic image of wood, stone or other natural visual. For structural strength, the inner core layer's plastic resin keeps the laminate stable and flat. The backing creates a moisture barrier that protects the floor from warping. It's this layered construction that makes laminate floors so remarkably durable.
CARPET REMOVAL
Carpet Removal is part of the Cumberland experience. We will remove your old carpet, haul it out to our truck, and clean up after. We'll ensure your old carpet is disposed of responsibly, and we also offer carpet recycling whenever possible.
